Teak Folding Garden Tables

A luxury teak folding table is the hardest worker in an outside space; offering flexibility, reliability and space-saving opportunities. Whilst still enduring, sturdy and stylish, our teak folding tables provide extra room by virtue of being easy to move to exactly where they are needed, and stored away when not in use.

Our folding garden tables are built from carefully selected Grade A heartwood teak and delivered fully assembled, with round, square, rectangular and oval tops to choose from.

Most garden furniture needs a yearly routine of oiling, sealing and varnishing. These tables don't. Grade A heartwood is naturally rich in the oils that keep water, insects and rot at bay, so the timber protects itself. Leave it out all year round and it will weather to a soft silver patina while staying as strong as the day it arrived, for decades to come.

Choosing a Folding Garden Table

Start with the shape and the number of people you usually seat, then think about where the table will live when it's folded. A round table suits a balcony or a compact corner. A rectangular or oval top works better once you're regularly seating five or six.

Built Like Our Fixed Tables

A folding table shouldn't be the compromise in your garden. We make ours the same way as our fixed range, which is why they last decades rather than seasons.

  • Solid teak tops from 35mm to 45mm thick, depending on shape and size
  • Machine-cut for precision, so every joint closes properly
  • Traditional mortice and tenon joinery, reinforced with dowel and adhesive
  • Tops built from two rows of teak slats and a central bar, framed in solid teak

The folding leg construction is what makes them easy to move and easy to put away, whether that's between meals or for the winter.

Matching Teak Folding Chairs

Our folding tables pair with any of our teak dining chairs and carvers, though they sit best with the folding Ripon and Lincoln designs. The Ripon is a low-backed chair with a gently shaped slatted seat and back, available as an armed carver or as a dining chair without arms.

Where a Folding Table Works Best

Folding tables earn their keep in spaces that have to do more than one job. Balconies, terraces, compact garden seating areas and conservatories all suit them, as does a larger garden that needs an extra table when people come over.

If you'd rather have a table that stays put, look at the teak garden tables range, or the teak extending tables if you want one table that changes size.

Folding Garden Table: FAQs

Are folding teak tables as strong as fixed tables?

Yes. We build our folding tables with the same traditional mortice and tenon joinery, dowel and adhesive as our fixed tables. The only difference is the leg construction, not the quality of the timber or the joinery.

How many people will a folding garden table seat?

Between two and six, depending on the shape and size. The round tops seat two to four, the square tops up to four and the rectangular and oval tops four to six.

Can a folding teak table be left outside all year?

Yes. Grade A heartwood teak can stay outdoors through a British winter with no covering, oiling or storage. Many owners fold their table away over winter simply to free up the space rather than to protect it. We do recommend greasing any metalwork once a year, and a small amount of Vaseline will do the job.

Do folding garden tables have a parasol hole?

Selected sizes come with a parasol hole. If you choose one, you will also need a parasol base. Check the specification for the size you're looking at, or call us.

Which chairs go with a folding table?

Any of our teak dining chairs and carvers will match, but the folding Ripon and Lincoln chairs are the natural pairing because they store away alongside the table.

Is delivery included?

Delivery is free on orders over £250 to UK mainland postcodes, and every table arrives fully assembled. Some remote postcodes carry a surcharge, and we quote for the islands individually.
