The York Teak Commemorative Bench

The York Teak Commemorative Bench is a classic memorial bench design with a wide horizontal crest rail, curved slatted back and a comfortable curved seat. With generous rounded arms and a reassuringly solid build, it has a traditional look that feels right for both private gardens and public settings.

Built for heavier use, the York has strong 7cm square legs and corner blocks for added stability, giving it a sturdy, heavyweight feel once in place. It is well suited to a personal inscription, either hand carved into the bench or added as a solid brass plaque, making it a thoughtful choice for commemorative, tribute or memorial seating.

For a softer finish, the York can be paired with a bespoke one-piece cushion in a choice of colours. If you would like to secure the bench, a fixing kit is available, with options for soft ground such as lawn or shingle, and hard surfaces such as patio slabs or concrete.

Materials and construction

Made from Grade A heartwood teak, chosen for its natural durability outdoors. Teak contains natural oils that help it resist weather, mould and mildew, making it well suited to year-round outdoor use. The York is built with heavy duty arms, strong square legs and supportive corner blocks to stand up to regular use in outdoor spaces.

Cushion note

Teak contains natural oils and tannins. Occasionally, a small amount of oil residue may be visible on the underside of cushions where they sit against the wood. This does not affect cushion quality or longevity.
